Corneal allogenic intratromal ring segment (CAIRS) implantation was introduced as an alternative to intracorneal ring segments. This video introduces a new technique with stained and dehydrated segments inserted into manually dissected channels. This technique is feasible even in very advanced keratoconus, inducing up to 40 diopters of flattening and possibly preventing penetrating keratoplasty.
