Although the Ahmed Glaucoma Valve (AGV) is useful, it has a low success rate in neovascular glaucoma and Sturge-Weber syndrome due to encapsulated cyst formation caused by vigorous fibrovascular membrane growth. We have devised a new AGV surgical technique for such refractory glaucoma and have achieved good surgical results, and would like to introduce this technique.
