Sponsored by the ASCRS Refractive Surgery Clinical Committee
In this webinar, attendees will determine how to diagnose and manage conditions affecting the ocular surface prior to cataract surgery with special consideration for patients being treated for astigmatism and/or presbyopia at the time of refractive cataract surgery. Management of dry eye, blepharitis, EBMD, Salzmann nodules, pterygium and ectasias will be covered. A discussion on irregular astigmatism, including ectatic conditions of the cornea, and the timing of crosslinking in the perioperative period will be reviewed. Defining when a toric lens is appropriate or not appropriate, recognizing how to prepare the ocular surface to obtain proper measurements, and summarizing other conditions affecting refractive cataract surgery will also be discussed.
