The safety of phaco is threatened by a hazy cornea. Here, we use a pars plana chandelier light coupled with a lens fragmentation device to enable phacoemulsification. Despite improved visualization with endoillumination, assessment of lens density remains difficult. The fragmentation device safely accomplishes nuclear disassembly. Combining these tools optimizes phaco beneath corneal haze.
