The number of patients with intraocular lens abnormalities is expected to increase rapidly. Although various secondary IOL fixation techniques have been introduced, there is still no method to reuse and fix all IOLs. The authors demonstrate the steps for developing an artificial capsular bag to hold all types of intraocular lenses and introduce an experimental implantation in a pig eye.
